Types and Prices

GraySketch:
A single character, full body and in a semi-sketchy, loose-lined, shaded grayscale. Characters can be anything and poses can be as desired, otherwise it would be nice to have a few lines of personality to get an impression on their nature. Can include one choice of colour splash (where everything on the character of that colour will be tinted to it). May also include a toned background, but otherwise the background will remain white.
Style examples:
GraySketch: Rishka by 13blackdragons GraySketch: Snow, the Gallor by 13blackdragons GraySketch: The Miner by 13blackdragons GraySketch: Imfah, the Nameless by 13blackdragons GraySketch: AndyDragon 3-8 by 13blackdragons GraySketch: Khan by 13blackdragons
Price - 15$

Basic Commission:
A single character, full body (or less, if requested) and basic background or no background at all, based on preferences. Complexities can be anything from simple peasant to magic-wielding beasties with intricate armour. Coloured and shaded (in either soft or cell styles), but can also be just flat colours if simplicity is desired.
Style examples:
The Distraction by 13blackdragons - Miranda's Dream - by 13blackdragons RvB - Recovery Fun by 13blackdragons 'Wintermoris wishes you.. by 13blackdragons - The Gemstoners - by 13blackdragons[link] [link] [link]
Price - 25$

Advanced Commission:
Similar to basic, only can include up to three characters in a scenic setting and background. Full body or partial, depending on the framing/composition and any possible story elements provided ('Screenshot'-like composition falls under this).
Style examples:
Project X [Commish] by 13blackdragons - Sky Titans - by 13blackdragons - This Is My Realm - by 13blackdragons CC the 'Swoosh' 'Cauda [Commish] by 13blackdragons Commission: Blacksmith by 13blackdragons - I Am Still Here - by 13blackdragons
Price - 40$, (+10$ if including complex elements, such as detailed background)

Legendary Commission:
When just three characters aren't enough.. Same deal as Advanced, but with allowance of several characters. Full body or partial, depending on the framing/composition and any possible story elements provided ('Screenshot'-like composition falls under this). Please note that these types of commissions will take greatly more time than any of the others. Likewise, it is required to discuss the scene with the artist beforehand to figure out how many characters maximum it will be possible to draw for that particular piece (since character sizes/details/visibility will affect the pricing). At this present point I will accept only one Legendary commission at a time and anyone ordering will be notified if a spot is free.
Style examples:
Project X21 (Leg.Com.) by 13blackdragons (Leg.Com.) Akina's Group by 13blackdragons
Price - 50$, (+5$ per additional character after three, up to ten / +10$ if including complex elements, such as detailed background)

Icon Commission:
For use in places where the commissioner deems them appropriate, including RPG Profiler icons for online DnDers, Star Wars players or other. Commonly a head-shot or bust, can be shaded or flat-coloured or transparent, based on preference. Alternate frame-sizes other than cubic fall under Profiler in terms of price, but no larger than 500 px on the longest side.
Style examples:
(Cubic)
(Profiler) DnD - Kerren by 13blackdragons - More Than Just a Little Curious - by 13blackdragons DnD - Lacerian Salus by 13blackdragons
Price - 10$ (Cubic Icons), 15$ (Profiler Icons)

Character Sheets:
Still closed, still need to do some research on them.

Concepts
References for characters must be distinct and clear, or the description of them detailed and complete. Anything not mentioned in detail will be executed with artistic creativity and thus not liable for later alterations. If an element in the sketch was deemed good enough to continue with, later changes to the consequent lineart are not likely to happen (but special cases may occur). Likewise, changes to the finished piece would only happen if the mistake is at the fault of the artist.
The characters need not be the commissioner's own, but they do have to have permission to use them (unless it's a gift).

Appropriately
I will draw Mature content, but not Adult content - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertai… (for overall reference). The basic difference being that while romantic scenes are alright, explicit is not. Likewise with any gore or violence - blood and/or typical degree of movie-carnage = alright; strangling someone with their intestine while an eye pops out = not alright.

Contact
I prefer contact be through messenger programs, although e-mail and DeviantArt notes work for the same effect. Artwork confirmation and approval checking works on three stages: Sketch, Lineart and Shaded/Finished (and optionally, Flats, though it tends to bleed into Finished). Commonly each commission is worked on one at a time, though if the commissioner does not respond within three days without prior giving notice to possibly being unable to do so, the commission is put on hold in favour of the next one in line until a reply is received.
Please give a few days to process the received commission at the start to work out possible questions and/or get an idea/feel for the piece to then go from. If there has been no return response from me in a week and it is noted that your piece is in the works presently, please send me a nudge, as some aspects of real life may have made me lost track of time. Commonly, each stage of the work takes slightly over a day (possibly up to three when colouring, if the piece is intricate) although as mentioned, outside factors could delay.

AIM: Jade Darkwing (RIP, poor AIM)
Skype: d.arcanlan
MSN/E-mail: mirkun@hotmail.com (RIP MSN, too)
Tumblr: sphinxdrawsstuff.tumblr.com (Asks are open)
Alternatively, Notes on dA also work

Payment and Method
Payment should be through Paypal only (as living in a small country limits options), and can be either in USD or the conversion equivalent of Euros, whichever is easiest on the commissioner. Transfer must include the name of the commissioner and a short note about the piece it is payment for (character name usually suffices, if it has been included in the initial commission description). Payment should be sent after receiving the initial sketch, prior to lineart being drawn, but may also be sent up-front if desired.
A commissioner is entitled to cancel the work at any given point, as well as to a refund. However, if the work is already past the Sketch stage, the refund will be partial depending on how close to completion the piece is, a minimal of 5$ for Basic, 10$ for Advanced and 3$ for Icons being guaranteed (the rest based upon mutual agreement). Refunds do not apply to finished pieces nor in cases where Terms of Service has been breached by the buyer party.

Terms of Use
The commissioner is allowed to
Edit the image for use as icons or signature banners/ect. so long as this use is personal; display the artwork in alternate locations so long as due credit is mentioned (if the work is uploaded into the gallery/tumblr, then preferably with a link back to it); print out the artwork if they feel like it, so long as no profit is made from the prints.

The commissioner is not allowed to
Claim the artwork as their own (character designs are except from this); distribute it for personal or corporal profit or gain, or for use as advertisement for themselves; enter it into contests or public displays (unless receiving permission for the latter); use the artwork as concept art for projects without prior consultation.
The whole graduating thing has ran me more than a little scatterbrained, so much so that I forgot to post this here:

A two and a half year endeavor had finally come to a close as I have come to finally finish the first short film :3 (Much help was had from Josie-weirdo on the matter, so folks ought toss her cookies).

But, without further jammering, har it be:

As sporadic as my updates here are, the journals are even more so, as most mind-rambling is done over on LJ.

But a question for the general public: do you suppose there are better job opportunities for only-animators or only-game designers? I know how to situation is in these parts, but some third-party insight into the world at large would be lovely :3

Right, so.

As it turns out, falling ill and being close to as sick as a dog (no offence to sick dogs) bestows one with an undying crave for sketching. So. In order to get this crave right out of the way and continue with film stuff (as should be done) I'm looking for suggestions on what to sketch. Preferences include weird, odd, strange, bizarre, imaginative things, also, preferably buggers of some sort (though I might give humanly things a try as well).

More or less anything will go, though I may not draw all of them, depending on how/if they strike my sketching sense fancy, but whatever will be drawn will also be tossed up over to Livejournal as one conclusive dump, with due credit.

So, whether a personal bugger of yours or of someone you know or just otherwise downright lovely in your eyes, don't be shy to toss up a link or something to it!

Art Binge, Wot Wot

Fri Dec 10, 2010, 5:02 PM
So, you go on for a good, solid, couple of months with very sparse posting (or showing any considerable signs of life for that matter, favourites not-withstanding) only to one day decide "Oh hai, today is a day of relax. Let's try to colour something."

Then, nine hours later, you discover yourself with an aching arm, a somewhat persistent lack of food, with a memory of at least five cups of tea being downed and four fully finished digital pieces, all of which had been sitting around in waiting for months.

..I honestly don't get it, thought motivation was supposed to go down when you've only had 4 hours of sleep due to a snowstorm..? x3;

Anywho, hopefully with only more to come. Second half of December and throughout January = a time in which I plan to push a lot of stagnant things into gear again, perhaps, but not limited to, the homepage being revived as part of a all-around Trepuldra hub (more or less an unofficial 'studio' name thingy) rather than Novastar or Realm of Enigma as its previous incarnations have been called.

Still truckin', albeit running a few tyres short.

Regarding Things I Owe

Tue Aug 17, 2010, 10:01 AM
If you're one such person, rest assured, I have a list of things marked up as to not forget, the only issue is working my way through it to get everything done. MML is currently demanding quite a few items to be done (both order and general-wise), which is why it is set as a priority (effectively being my 'job' per say), though that doesn't mean commissions or requests are no less so.

Although feel free to prod me either through Notes or personal message addresses to check up on how far things are going (both MSN and AIM are shown on the user page). I'm hoping this influx of things will turn into a positive thing, giving me the motivation necessary to perhaps start working on a few personal things as well.

Not much in other news. Various Days had an a small spam of new pages, strangely built up to become a buffer when Josie-weirdo was visiting here, but other than that I've had my first 'stripes' in a local Magic: The Gathering tournament game and made some small additions/alteration to the wardrobe that's been a long time coming.

In short, runnin' the race and keepin' the faith!

Launch: Various Days Site

Sat Jun 12, 2010, 3:15 PM
One would think you could get a simple site with a pretty simple layout running within a day or two, but alas, was not as lucky. A good majority of it took the archive pages, which more often than not were bothersome on their own. But no head-desk-induced pain, no gain!

Nearly three years since the first of these short slice-of-life doodles was drawn, roughly 34 accumulated strips later, the Days have been united under one name and given their very own web hub:

Those of you who lurk on LJ can probably recognise most of these, but from now on they will be primarily uploaded into their own hub, the journal remaining (once more) mostly for misc sketches, scraps and snapshots. I do not dare call it a webcomic just yet, as it has not so much a plot as life-dictated updates whenever something note-worthily humorous is put down in drawing form (and unlike most webcomics with similar beginnings, will definitely remain so).

And without further ado, onward! To smash whatever icebergs lay beneath the treacherous waves of the internet!

(If anyone comes across a broken link, a typo or something else most decidedly not correct, be sure to let me know!)

Recap of May

Thu Jun 3, 2010, 4:15 AM
So as somewhat promised, the shortened version of the events in May:

Things got kicked off by exams and evaluations of all kinds, that had been flung in from left and right ending.. except for a few last minute wildcards that were tossed into the deck and chose now to reveal themselves. Cue about a week's worth of work on creating an animate-able puppet of a Stresomer, coupled with working on the actual film puppets at the same time, plus countless hours of "Oh Crap" when thinking about how to paint the darned thing proper.

Finally the puppet was finished pretty much one evening before the exhibition, but things turned out a lot better than expected and life was good for a few days.

Then came the realization that sitting on top of keep ruins in South-West of Estonia was apparently a good way to get your back sunburned. What a lovely couple of days that was to shuttle between downtown and home on busses where seats were quite the rarity.. (If you know me IRL, you know that I pretty much never leave home without my courier bag stacked with a few notebooks, a sketchbook, a general book and utility stuff)

Sunburn let up, as did the weather and then came the cold and the thunderstorms (the latter not as bad), coupled with the marathon of birthdays on my dad's side of the family (4 total, the last 3 pretty much in a row), which added having to shuttle downtown and then to the outskirts on the opposite side of the city on more than one occasion in a week. Birthdays were all pretty fun, as it's been a long time since I've managed to see that much of that family side all together in one place (could have been mistaken, but by my count pretty much all of them were present).
The only rain on the day was the not all too unexpected yet unhoped tension between a few members in regards to their life style.

All that aside, had been a good week, both in creativity and coincidence as Neph's adapter cord managed to once more become faulty, but dad managed to fix it the next day before I headed home again.

Then the cold slowly went away and some warmth drew back into the weather. For some reason, this brought about an epidemic of Grumpy among more than a few folks I chatted with, some more severely than others, thus effectively killing whatever little bouts of happy-inspirational-content would have been required to get things done (or done effectively). The result was a period lasting slightly less than week, in which most of everything received the thought of "Bugger it."

But things began to pick up with little happy-shards again, along with finding the motivation to work on the movie and pretty much accumulated with the Primoris brush-painting that managed to bring everything back on track once more. The only issue with this is that there's still quite a few neglected things requiring clean-up, chief among those: my room and last year's NaNoWriMo story editing (due June 30th). For the former, I'll but need to devoute a day and just keep at it, but in order to get to the second, I'll try and revise bit-by-bit while posting paragraph-sized snippets on LJ (hoping for a 'daily' thing here, but will have to remain realistic).

So there's stuff to do, there's nicer weather to do them in and definitely a much better mental/emotional state to do work with. With any amount of luck present, June will hopefully be more successful than May was.

This small thing called 'Freedom'?

Wed May 5, 2010, 1:26 AM
Exams, evaluations and seminars are now officially over, which means that summer vacation (as such) has finally arrived.

I'm.. still too much task-scatter-brained to quite realize this, sadly x3 But hopefully it'll come around and hit me soon enough. Until then, seems the AC sketch-comic thing got some fair amount of appreciation, so the colouring of the rest of the doodles is now a-go. Unless something comes up (like animating or puppet-making) there should be a semi-constant supply of the others tossed up this week (and some new, uncoloured ones on LJ).

The game is just that humorous to me :typerhappy:

No news on the badges yet, but summer will hopefully kick stuff into gear. Got drawing to do and some Nanowrimo revision before July, so boredom will be the least of my worries.

Given some already read journals, there seems to be a mixed reception to this year's prank among the fellow users.

Personally, I was this close to giggling with a snort when the full extent of it hit me x3;

Also, the llama badge thing is probably one of the most awesome meme-respecting mechanism I've seen on the site, which is to say it amuses me to no end. It also makes me want to ninja around userpages to bestow these badges to folks I know (as well as a few who I don't, but have a respect for in one way or another).

That said, coupled with my and Josie-weirdo's attempts at selling badges, anyone who wished to get one more llama on their userpage just give me a poke! :3

Have a good pranking day!

The muse that governs over the drawing aspect of mine is divided into two halves: the first half is the muse to DO the drawing part, the second is the muse of WHAT I'm drawing. And the latter is a bit on the fritz in the sense that it's spazzing around much too much to pin to a specific idea.. and I would like to get an early start on March's mandatory drawing piece..

So, anyone have any suggestions of what to draw? Philosophical/metaphorical stuff, character sheets, attempts at environmental scenes, fan art, art trade, technical stuff, speed painting, memes, redraws of older stuff?
:-?

EDIT: I'll combine about 2-3 suggestions and let people suggest specific characters/creatures of theirs to be drawn, from which, depending on how much the academy pressures into diverting attentions to it, I'll take a pick of 3-5 things that'll be drawn (hopefully enough!). So, suggest away! :3

:bulletwhite:          :bulletwhite:          :bulletwhite:

EDIT: Josie has managed to turn a few of the images into test-badges (to test their durability, appearance and the general process of how they are made), resulting in:

Leap of Faith: i66.photobucket.com/albums/h25…
Ramon Moondance: i66.photobucket.com/albums/h25…
And a random Corén: i66.photobucket.com/albums/h25…

/EDIT

Badge-wise, there was some pretty decent interest in them in the poll, though the feedback was a bit smallish. This means Josie and I will definitely give it a go, but what we pick to put on the badges might not correlate with the interests and/or wishes of the folks who voted positively. (Not to say suggestions are still not open!)

In addition we have a third person joining in on this, namely Mari-0o, who did not mind having some of her works badge-ified (so be sure to check her gallery out, as, personally, I find her art to be kick-ass, (even if she denies it)).

A personal pick of badge designs will come later, but so far Josie has listed up these:

Ramon Moondance by 13blackdragons:thumb28257301: Now we are Free by 13blackdragons

:bulletwhite:          :bulletwhite:          :bulletwhite:

The gallery itself is a bit thinner in terms of deviation numbers, as I finally went and did some spring cleaning among some of the older (and one or two of the later) pieces, seeing as they were growing to be not so much an example of how the style or skill has advanced as the pictural variant of the embarrassment felt when one's mother is showing your best friend/stranger/aquaintance/hubby your old baby pictures..

To ease the flofx's mind, I did save them all onto the computer first.. x3

Right, since the last skin (albeit lovely in its theme) seemed to provide quite a large amount of discomfort, decided to try another one on for size. It may continue to change, however, given that one lovely person went and granted me a year's membership in light of the holidays, so in a way you're pre-warned!

And if you think this journal will go on without it, you're wrong: HAPPY HOLIDAYS! <3

Mine have been very lovely so far, both in mind of the various family dinners, present and people (and nothing particularly important suddenly ceasing to work, as has been the somewhat trend). On the subject of presents and the like, just hop over to the LJ for more longer ramblings (rather than suffer me simply copy-pasting the same thing here).

Activity-wise, slowly on the rise with things and the year begins to wrap up, and with it some long-term responsibilities that have weighed rather heavily on the shoulders. Already getting into the groove of colouring once more (with the Left 4 Presents snippet, a cover page for a project I'm not sure is open for public sharing just yet and some WIP drawing memes).
  So, expect more!

  Badges?

Also somewhat related to art, :iconjosie-weirdo: and I have been discussing and plotting over the idea of possibly selling badges. I'll toss up a poll soon enough, but in addition to wishing to see if there's any interest in them, would be lovely if you folk could recommend pieces or things they would like to see on the badges (from my gallery), whether old or new or sketched or doodles or even things you'd like to see possibly redrawn specifically for the badges (Guardian Free has so far been one such on the list).

So toss in those suggestions/feedback and we'll see what we can do to meet them! :3

What Usually Comes Next

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 13, 2009, 12:19 AM
Not quite alive yet here, but definitely not dead either, as some more observant people may have noticed in terms of my favourites count steadily going up. Reasons for it shall be summarized below, seeing as I doubt most of you check up on LJ where the bulk of my art-related activity and ramblings have been (don't much blame you, sketches can be disheartening):

1 - Following a series of confusing statement over the subject of when we are to finish the drawing-animation film during summer and the start of fall, our professors finally told us a deadline, which happens to be Christmas. That's put everyone to work, more or less, and not slacking a whole lot during it at that (so hooray for deadlines x3).
However.. It also means some, like me, are more or less having to draw our hands off to keep up with the schedule we've set for ourselves..

2 - It's November and anyone remotely related with the literary world know what month THAT is.

3 - Around the middle of summer by previous Trust-brand tablet began acting wonky and all schizophrenic, being incapable of deciding whether it was a pen or a mouse. This made digital artz (in particular colouring) a most annoying task to do (it wasn't impossible, just.. very very very very very annoying to do + long-winded).
I'm happy to announce the newly acquired tablet is much more friendly :3

4 - School. 'Cause.. ya'know, even if you call it an 'Academy' instead of 'Unfriendly Pit of Homework' it's still homework and it still eats your time.
The only difference is now you have to visualize while working a whole lot more..

Summarizing all that again, I'm not exactly wholly back art-wise, but you may see one piece or another, whether job- or school-related or just random amusement, pop up every now and then.

So, soon now we're going on our 4th week at the Art Academy, and thus far there's been win, there's been fun and there's been rather much homework.

Honestly, I had not expected that much drawing x3; The first week was all chatter, the second all writing and the third seemed to be all drawing, with many more to come. Now, I've trained enough to be able to draw in class efficiently, but the number of storyboards I have to do for next week might be having me cut it close x3;

Anywho, here's to hoping my hand wont fall off or some such.

Oh, and I also uploaded a few sculpts that have been waiting to be uploaded for roughly a year or so, 'cause Mari (:iconmari-0o:)was exceedingly insistent that I do x3;

You know.. at the beginning of the summer, I had worried and wondered what I would need to do in order for it not go to waste, seeing as my plans were close to none - The only thing I had properly planned was graduation, work and driver's exam.

Thinking back, I really should have known better than that and should have expected other things as well.
Somehow, the summer and circumstances managed to make it so fulfilling, that I barely had time to upload stuff here, much less complete new things.

Still, in between work days, trips and other random busy days, some things still got done, the bulk of which I've managed to upload by now.
However, it's still not all of it x3 So, once this other thing has passed, there's a good chance of more.

This other thing?

Well, long story short, the MSDOS is gathering in Denmark again xD Fear and ponder over what doomful results that will bring..

Indeed, I am not dead, just been this bit busy and resting. There's been news and there's been happenings, but all in order, shall we?

- First off, the more prominent reason on why I have been busy was school. Or the end of it :3 Yup, I am not a high-school graduate (or well, have been for about a month or so)

- Secondly, there's been a few trips, specifically the one to this little speck of an island in west Estonia called Vilsandi, which I visted along with my dad and his family. Really lovely nature there <3 Hell of a trip to reach it, though xD

- Finally, entrance exams. Which, thank gods, I passed <3 So now you're looking at the in-training Bachelor of Animaton at our local Art Academy :3 With luck, I wont fail horribly once courses start xD But expect some things art-wise to change.

- There's also been a whole bunch of birthdays, both family and friends, which all have been lovely :3

- Neph (laptop) had also, unfortunately, suffered through a whole mess of problem which led to it being taken for repairs. So art, which had been delayed by the various events thus far, is delayed a little longer.

And that's pretty much it. There's been a few other minor things like driver's license and such, but they're not all that worth noting at the moment.
Art-wise, I have drawn and sketched things, but almost all of them are behind the colouring bit. As said, once I get Neph back, you can expect more things to be put up (including bits from the entrance portfolio).

Until then, I'll be heading to Lithuania until the 25th :3 So everyone have a nice summer, and (hopefully) there will more updates when I get back <3

There's not really all that much that I can say in order to explain my absence on DA. The primary reason would probably be because my subscription ran out and so I'm having trouble going thru the deviations on the watch list.

..What sort of trouble, you may ask? Well, for one, I watch over 514 people, which means there's roughly 50+ deviantions added to it each day (and given my laptops speed on opening deviations, it takes me three hours to get thru those 50+). Unfortunetly, I cant really afford that time, due to school so it's a 'Meh D:' topic.
On the brighter side of things, Christmas is not all that far off :3 So if I can bug a relative or two enough then I should be okay for another year.
(Reminds me the reason I saved some of my summer job's pay for Sept.. Hmm, should remember that next year).

But still, journals and such are easier to browse so I have those under control and I've found myself going the easier way and just looking around on some peoples' pages to see updates and new deviations xD As well as done a bit of art hunting from time to time.
Yep, still guilty of the occasional :+fav: and run x3

Art-related, I managed to get a few things done during the ever so brief school break we had and once I fix a few things pointed out by the requestees I'll have 'em uploaded as well. So expect activity! ..But possibly not too much, I am still in the 12th grade, after all (As in, our teachers have perfected the form of mental and educational torture for a decade now.)

Sketches are still popping up every now and then, but they mostly go to LJ. Usually, there's a sort of "dead time" with both sketching and coloring. That's usually when we have a lovely test week, so hence the even more idle nature x3;

But I'm not dead! ..Yet!
(So, tough luck!)

And have a nice early winter :3 (I know we are)
